Quantitative measurement of fibrinogen degradation products in human specimens is central to evaluating coagulopathies, disseminated intravascular coagulation, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. The Assay Genie microplate immunoassay provides a 96-well sandwich ELISA workflow with colorimetric readout for research use only, delivering results through a standard curve generated from calibrators supplied with the kit. Each box contains a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, lyophilized standards, assay buffers, and TMB substrate sufficient for 96 individual determinations.

Sensitivity is rated below 2.5 ng/mL, with a standard curve detection range of 6.25 to 400 ng/mL covering clinically relevant concentrations of fibrin split products. The protocol uses 50 uL of serum or plasma per well, with incubation steps performed at room temperature and a total run time of roughly 3.5 hours. The capture antibody is human-specific, showing no significant cross-reactivity with intact fibrinogen, D-dimer, or related fibrin degradation fragments, which makes the kit useful for distinguishing primary fibrinolysis from secondary fibrinolytic processes driven by thrombosis.

Storage requires the kit to be refrigerated at 4 degrees C, with reconstituted standards stored frozen at -20 degrees C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The microplate format supports high-throughput screening in clinical research laboratories investigating thrombotic and hemostatic disorders, while the colorimetric endpoint is read on standard microplate readers fitted with a 450 nm filter. Assay Genie provides a detailed protocol booklet and dedicated technical support, allowing laboratories to integrate FDP quantification directly into coagulation research and biomarker discovery pipelines.
