Human Fatty acid desaturase 2 (FADS2) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative detection of human Fatty acid desaturase 2 (FADS2) in research samples. FADS2 is an enzyme that participates in the biosynthesis of polyunsaturated fatty acids and helps regulate lipid composition and metabolism, and altered FADS2 activity has been associated with cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, and inflammation, making it a relevant target for studies in lipid metabolism and related disease research.

The kit is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Detection is colorimetric, with a stated detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 8.4%. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Ubiquitin-associated protein 2, and is associated with UniProt entry Q5T6F2. Linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, and recovery averages 97% (range 91-103%) in serum and 99% (range 93-105%) in plasma.
