FABP1, also referred to as liver-type fatty acid-binding protein or L-FABP, contributes to intracellular fatty acid transport and metabolism in the liver, and its dysregulation has been associated with liver diseases, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular conditions. The assay uses a colorimetric, sandwich format with a detection range of 6.25-400ng/mL and a sensitivity of 3.12ng/mL. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human FABP1 (UniProt P07148), and the kit is intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 3.4% and an inter-assay CV of 6.8%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum (89-115% across 1:2-1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (88-117%), and heparin plasma (97-117%). Recovery averages 104% for serum (range 98-110%) and 106% for plasma (range 100-112%).
