Human Fatty acid-binding protein, epidermal (FABP5) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Fatty acid-binding protein, epidermal (FABP5). The assay reacts with human samples only and is validated for use with serum and plasma, as well as tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance specifications state a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Spike-and-recovery gives averages of 101% for serum (range 95-107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97-109%), with linearity assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Fatty acid-binding protein 5.

FABP5 functions as an intracellular carrier for long-chain fatty acids and related lipid ligands, supporting cytosolic-to-nuclear fatty acid delivery and being implicated in keratinocyte differentiation. The kit is supplied for research use only.
