Human Fascin (FSCN1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Fascin (FSCN1), an actin-bundling protein implicated in cell motility, migration, and the formation of cellular protrusions. The assay is reactive with human samples and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. It detects both natural and recombinant human Fascin.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34 ng/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Spike-and-recovery testing gives an average of 100% in serum (range 94–106%) and 102% in plasma (range 96–108%), with dilutional linearity provided for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across 1:2 to 1:16 sample dilutions.

Fascin (FSCN1) is also known as the 55 kDa actin-bundling protein, singed-like protein, p55, FAN1, HSN, and SNL. The protein organizes filamentous actin into bundles with a minimum 4.1:1 actin/fascin ratio and contributes to the formation of microspikes, membrane ruffles, stress fibers, and filopodia. The kit is intended for research use only, falls within the epigenetics research area, and is associated with Uniprot entry Q16658 and a reported molecular weight of 54 kDa.
