The Assay Genie Human FAM117B ELISA Kit quantifies the FAM117B protein, also known by its gene aliases ALS2CR12 and C6orf14, a relatively under-characterized gene product first identified through genetic screens of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The assay uses a human-specific capture antibody pair intended to recognize endogenous FAM117B in research specimens, with no significant cross-reactivity reported against homologous family members. Investigators have applied FAM117B quantification in studies of neurodegenerative pathways and in tumor biology, including hepatocellular carcinoma, where altered expression has been documented. The supplied microplate is pre-coated and packaged with lyophilized recombinant standards, a biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, and TMB substrate sufficient for a complete plate run.
