Human FADS2/Fatty acid desaturase 2 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human FADS2 (Fatty Acid Desaturase 2). The double-antibody assay uses colorimetric detection and accepts a broad range of human liquid sample types including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. FADS2 is an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, with dysregulation linked to cardiovascular disorders, metabolic syndromes, and inflammatory conditions, making it a potential biomarker for research in lipid metabolism and cell membrane function. Validated linearity and recovery data are provided for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, with recovery averages of 96% (serum), 100% (EDTA plasma), and 96% (heparin plasma).

The procedure includes primary incubation for 90 minutes at 37°C, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes at 37°C, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding for 30 minutes at 37°C, TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition. Kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
