Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of activated coagulation factor XII in human samples, this sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double antibody format with colorimetric detection. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. Activated coagulation factor XII plays a critical role in the initiation of the intrinsic coagulation pathway, and dysregulation of factor XII activation has been associated with various coagulation disorders, making it a useful biomarker for studying thrombotic diseases.

The assay provides a sensitivity of 0.375 ng/mL and a working range of 0.625-40 ng/mL. Across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions (n=5), linearity is reported as 82-100% for serum, 83-102% for EDTA plasma, and 81-101% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges from 85-104%, with averages of 99% (serum), 93% (EDTA plasma), and 96% (heparin plasma). The procedure includes a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotinylated detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate development with absorbance read at 450 nm. Kits are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
