Human Extracellular superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn] (SOD3) ELISA Kit

The Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Extracellular superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn] (SOD3), also known as EC-SOD. It is intended for research use only and is reactive with human material. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Extracellular superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn].

The kit provides a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.103ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 4.0% CV and inter-assay precision at 6.4% CV. Recovery in serum averaged 103% (range 97-109%) and in plasma averaged 105% (range 99-111%). Linearity has been characterised across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions.

SOD3 (UniProt: P08294) is a homotetramer secreted into the extracellular space, where it converts superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, helping protect tissues from reactive oxygen intermediates. Dysregulation of Cu/Zn-SOD3 has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, making this kit useful for studies of disease pathology. The protein is grouped under metabolism research. The kit ships with a dismountable microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate solution and stop solution, with most components stored at -20°C and others at 4°C.
