Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase 1, also known as MAPK3, is a 43 kDa serine/threonine kinase at the core of the MAPK/ERK signal transduction cascade. The Assay Genie ERK1 ELISA Kit enables researchers to quantify this protein in human tissue homogenates, supporting studies of cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and oncogenic pathway activation.

Each kit is configured for 96 individual assays using a colorimetric method, with reagents supplied for laboratory use. The assay is reactive specifically with human samples and is intended for research use only. ERK1 is phosphorylated and activated by upstream MEK1 and MEK2 kinases, and its expression and activation state are widely studied across cancer biology, neurobiology, and cardiovascular research, where dysregulation of the Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK signaling axis contributes to disease phenotypes.

Typical workflows involve homogenizing tissue in an appropriate lysis buffer, loading samples and standards onto the plate, and measuring absorbance to determine ERK1 concentration. The kit supports investigations of receptor tyrosine kinase activity, MAP kinase pathway inhibitors, and downstream transcription factor regulation, providing a flexible tool for signal transduction laboratories.
