From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit using a double antibody format is intended for the precise measurement of EXT1 (Exostoses 1) levels in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Detection is colorimetric, and the kit is for research use only.

The assay offers a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a standard range of 0.781-50 ng/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, with serum reporting 85-104% at 1:2, 82-95% at 1:4, and 82-97% at 1:8. Recovery ranges from 87-99% in serum, 92-100% in EDTA plasma, and 86-104% in heparin plasma. EXT1 is a protein that plays a vital role in the regulation of cell growth and development, particularly in bone and cartilage formation, and mutations in the EXT1 gene have been linked to multiple hereditary exostoses (MHE), a rare genetic disorder causing abnormal bone growth and skeletal deformities.
