Description
This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human ETFDH (Electron Transfer Flavoprotein-Ubiquinone Oxidoreductase) in research samples. The kit uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection, reaching a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL across a working range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.
ETFDH is a mitochondrial enzyme involved in the electron transport chain, playing a role in cellular energy production. Dysregulation of ETFDH has been linked to metabolic disorders including multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency and glutaric aciduria type II, making accurate quantification of interest for studies of mitochondrial dysfunction. The associated Uniprot entry is Q16134.
The assay uses a dismountable pre-coated microplate. After equilibrating reagents to room temperature, standards, samples and controls are loaded and incubated at 37°C for 90 minutes. Biotin-labelled detection antibody is added for 60 minutes, followed by HRP-streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate for 10-20 minutes in the dark. Absorbance is read at 450 nm after adding stop solution. Kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months, with the microplate and lyophilised standard also suitable for 12 months at -20°C.
