The Assay Genie ERN2 ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of endoribonuclease IRE2, an endoplasmic reticulum-membrane serine/threonine kinase and RNase that drives the unfolded protein response (UPR). Validated for human serum and EDTA-plasma research samples, the kit uses a 96 Assays microplate format with an enzyme-based colorimetric readout on a standard plate reader.

ERN2 (also known as IRE2) is the human homolog of yeast Ire1 and acts as a sensor of ER stress, oligomerizing and autophosphorylating upon accumulation of misfolded proteins, then splicing XBP1 mRNA through its cytosolic RNase domain. Researchers apply this Assay Genie kit to investigate IRE1/ERN2 signaling in metabolic dysfunction, inflammatory disease, neurodegeneration, and cell stress models, as well as to compare UPR activation across the IRE1, PERK, and ATF6 branches.

Each kit ships with a pre-coated microplate, capture and detection antibodies, recombinant human ERN2 standards, wash buffer, assay diluent, substrate solution, and stop reagent.
