Quantitative immunoassay for the DNA repair protein ERCC6, also known as Cockayne syndrome protein B (CSB). ERCC6 is the central ATPase of transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair (TC-NER), a pathway that removes bulky helix-distorting lesions from actively transcribed DNA strands. Loss-of-function variants cause Cockayne syndrome type B and UV-sensitive syndrome, while reduced ERCC6 activity has been linked to age-related macular degeneration and accelerated cellular senescence, so accurate quantification of this protein supports research into genome stability, neurodegeneration, and aging biology. The kit, supplied by Assay Genie, is a complete laboratory kit containing all reagents required to perform the assay, including pre-coated microplate wells, recombinant standards, a biotinylated detection antibody, and a colorimetric substrate suitable for readout on a standard plate reader. It is intended for in vitro research use only, is reactive with human ERCC6, and has been validated for measuring endogenous ERCC6 in cell culture supernatants, tissue lysates, and patient-derived samples. Investigators working on nucleotide excision repair, Cockayne syndrome, progeroid syndromes, the UV-damage response, and retinal degeneration will find this kit a useful tool for studying transcription-coupled repair activity and DNA damage signaling in human model systems.
