The ERAS gene encodes a constitutively active Ras-family GTPase originally identified in embryonic stem cells, where it activates the PI3K/Akt signaling cascade and supports pluripotency-related proliferation. Aberrant ERAS expression has been documented in gastric, breast, and renal carcinoma tissues, making quantitative measurement valuable for oncology biomarker studies and stem cell signaling investigations.
