Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative measurement of human EPS8 (Epidermal growth factor receptor kinase substrate 8; UniProt Q12929) in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and a TMB substrate read at 450 nm.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a standard range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 86–101%, 85–99% and 85–105% in serum; 84–99%, 84–101% and 83–95% in EDTA plasma; and 81–93%, 81–99% and 82–96% in heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery values averaged 94% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 96% for heparin plasma. The workflow involves plate and reagent equilibration, a 37°C primary incubation for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, TMB development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and immediate absorbance reading after stop solution. The kit is stored at 2–8°C and is stated to remain stable for 12 months under those conditions.

EPS8 is described as a substrate of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase that participates in signalling pathways regulating cell growth, migration and survival, with reported links to cancer and neurological disorders. The kit is positioned for research into EGFR-related signalling and EPS8-related disease mechanisms.
