Human Epididymal-specific lipocalin-12 (LCN12) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Epididymal-specific lipocalin-12 (LCN12) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human LCN12.

The kit provides a detection range of 62.5-4000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 15.6pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.4%. LCN12 is a secreted monomer belonging to the calycin superfamily and lipocalin family; it binds all-trans retinoic acid and may act as a retinoid carrier protein within the epididymis, with implications for male fertility research. The protein's dysregulation has been linked to conditions such as prostate cancer, supporting its value as a biomarker in oncology, immunology and metabolism research areas.
