Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Ephrin type-A receptor 3 (EPHA3). The kit is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human EPHA3, referenced under UniProt P29320.

Quantitative performance is reported with a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.11ng/mL. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with average recovery of 84% in serum (range 80-90%) and 86% in plasma (range 80-92%). The kit falls within the signal transduction research area.

EPHA3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds membrane-bound ephrin family ligands on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling. It regulates cell-cell adhesion, cytoskeletal organization and cell migration, and has been implicated in cardiac cell migration and differentiation, formation of the atrioventricular canal, retinotectal mapping of neurons and segregation of motor and sensory axons during neuromuscular circuit development. Dysregulation of EPHA3 has been linked to cancer, neurological disorders and cardiovascular conditions, supporting its interest as a biomarker and therapeutic target. Reported synonyms include EPH-like kinase 4, HEK, Tyrosine-protein kinase TYRO4, Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor ETK1, EK4, Human embryo kinase, Eph-like tyrosine kinase 1, ETK, ETK1 and TYRO4.
