Description

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantification of human Eosinophil lysophospholipase (CLC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay achieves a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL across a working range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and detects both natural and recombinant human CLC.

CLC, also referred to as Charcot–Leyden crystal protein, Galectin-10 (Gal-10) or lysolecithin acylhydrolase, is a lysophospholipase localized to cytoplasmic granules. It is expressed primarily in eosinophils and basophils and hydrolyzes lysophosphatidylcholine to glycerophosphocholine and a free fatty acid, with reported carbohydrate- and IgE-binding activity. The protein is implicated in immune and inflammatory processes, including allergic responses, asthma and certain myeloid leukemias. The UniProt entry for this target is Q05315, and the listed molecular weight is 16,453 Da.

The assay is read at 450 nm and is supplied for research use only. Kit components fall under the Cardiovascular research area, with individual reagent storage conditions detailed in the product documentation.
