Human Enoyl-CoA hydratase, mitochondrial (ECHS1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Enoyl-CoA hydratase, mitochondrial (ECHS1). The colorimetric assay is reactive with human samples and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 39pg/mL, and reported precision with an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and inter-assay CV of 8.7%. Linearity has been assessed across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery is reported at 97% (range 91-103%) for serum and 99% (range 93-105%) for plasma. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human ECHS1. The kit is supplied in a solid phase format and is intended for research use only.

ECHS1 is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme involved in the second step of the fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway, where it hydrates 2-trans-enoyl-CoA intermediates to L-3-hydroxyacyl-CoAs. Dysregulation of ECHS1 has been linked to metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, supporting its value as a biomarker for cardiovascular and related research.
