Human Endothelin-1 (EDN1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie with colorimetric detection, intended for the measurement of human Endothelin-1 (EDN1), also referred to as Preproendothelin-1 or PPET1. The assay is for research use only and has been validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 7.8-500 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 3.9 pg/mL. Intra-assay and inter-assay CVs are 9.1% and 10.4% respectively. Linearity was tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. In serum (N=5), values ranged from 96-106%, 108-116%, 101-113% and 100-110% across the four dilutions. EDTA plasma (N=5) showed 104-114%, 99-109%, 91-104% and 86-96%, and heparin plasma (N=5) showed 82-91%, 85-95%, 84-94% and 83-92%. Average recovery was 86% in serum (range 80-92%) and 88% in plasma (range 82-94%).

Endothelins are endothelium-derived vasoconstrictor peptides with a key role in regulating vascular tone and blood pressure. Dysregulation of endothelin-1 has been implicated in cardiovascular disorders, pulmonary hypertension and renal diseases. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Endothelin-1, and the target protein is annotated as a secreted peptide. The kit is listed under the Cancer research area.
