Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie that uses a colorimetric detection method, designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Endothelial cell-specific molecule 1 (ESM1), also known as endocan, in human samples. The assay is reactive with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.2pg/mL. The protocol is read on a microplate reader at 450 nm.

Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (94-104% to 100-110% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (104-117% to 105-115%), and heparin plasma (100-110% to 92-103%). Spike recovery averages 101% for serum (range 95-107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97-109%). The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant human ESM1, a secreted monomeric protein (UniProt Q9NQ30) involved in angiogenesis and angiogenic sprouting, with potential implications in lung endothelial cell-leukocyte interactions.

ESM1 is a secreted protein mainly expressed in endothelial cells of human lung and kidney tissues, with cytokine-regulated expression linked to endothelium-dependent pathological disorders. For research use only. Storage conditions for individual kit components are detailed in the product documentation.
