Manufactured by Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of human Endogenous Bornavirus-like nucleoprotein 1 (EBLN1), also known as Endogenous Borna-like N element-1 or EBLN-1. The kit is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human EBLN1.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 32pg/ml. Precision values are reported as an intra-assay CV of 4.4% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. Linearity testing in serum (N=5) yielded recoveries of 96-106% at 1:2 dilution, 102-112% at 1:4, 81-91% at 1:8, and 97-107% at 1:16. Plasma recovery averaged 98% with a range of 92-104%.

EBLN1 is described in UniProt (accession P0CF75) as one that may act as an RNA-binding protein and is highly homologous to the bornavirus nucleocapsid N protein, which binds viral RNA and oligomerizes.
