Human Elongation factor G, mitochondrial (GFM1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate and reliable detection of human Elongation factor G, mitochondrial (GFM1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human GFM1. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 23pg/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Recovery in serum averaged 94% (range 88-100%) and in plasma averaged 96% (range 90-102%). Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.

GFM1 is a mitochondrial GTPase that catalyses the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation, and defects in the gene are the cause of combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency type 1 (COXPD1). The product is classified within the Epigenetics research area, with a subcellular localisation in the mitochondrion.
