Human ELN/Elastin ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of elastin in human samples. Elastin is a key extracellular matrix protein that contributes to the structural integrity and elasticity of tissues, particularly within the cardiovascular system and skin. The kit is intended for research into aging, cardiovascular diseases, and connective tissue disorders, and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Key performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.281 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.469-30 ng/mL. Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions for serum (89-102%, 85-102%, 86-99%), EDTA plasma (87-100%, 85-99%, 86-99%), and heparin plasma (82-90%, 85-93%, 81-100%). Mean recoveries were 99% for serum (range 92-105%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 87-105%), and 95% for heparin plasma (range 87-102%).

The assay involves primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, and TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C, with selected components stable for up to 12 months at -20°C.
