Human Elastase 2, Neutrophil (ELA2) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of Neutrophil Elastase 2 (ELA2), a serine protease encoded by the ELANE gene and stored in the azurophilic granules of circulating neutrophils. Upon inflammatory stimulation, ELA2 is released during degranulation or NETosis, where it cleaves elastin and other extracellular matrix proteins, making it a widely used biomarker for neutrophil activation in acute lung injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, sepsis, vasculitis, and related neutrophil-driven conditions. The kit provides pre-coated plate strips and reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations, with a colorimetric end-point read on a standard microplate spectrophotometer. Validated sample inputs include serum samples, plasma samples, cell-derived lysates, and tissue homogenates, supporting workflows that span patient biofluids, primary cell cultures, and animal-model tissues. Reconstituted standards and working detector antibody should be used within the working window defined in the lot-specific certificate of analysis; unopened kit components are stored refrigerated according to the package insert. Each lot is quality-controlled for standard-curve linearity, intra-assay and inter-assay precision, and spike-recovery in biological matrices, and the protocol walks the user through reagent preparation, incubation times, wash steps, and four-parameter or linear curve fitting.
