Human EF-hand domain-containing protein D2 (EFHD2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human EF-hand domain-containing protein D2 (EFHD2), also known as Swiprosin-1 or SWS1. The assay recognises natural and recombinant human EFHD2 and is intended for research use only. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.2 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.8% and inter-assay CV is 8.6%. Linearity has been verified in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (N=5) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with reported values of 83–113% for serum, 86–120% for EDTA plasma and 83–115% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 91% in serum (range 85–97%) and 93% in plasma (range 87–99%).

EFHD2 may regulate B-cell receptor (BCR)-induced immature and primary B-cell apoptosis, act as a negative regulator of the canonical NF-kappa-B-activating branch, and control spontaneous apoptosis through the regulation of BCL2L1 abundance. The protein localises to membrane rafts and is catalogued under UniProt Q96C19. The associated research area is cardiovascular.
