INSL4, also referenced as Insulin-like peptide 4, Placentin and EPIL, is a secreted member of the insulin superfamily (UniProt Q14641) that may play an important role in trophoblast development and in the regulation of bone formation, making it a relevant biomarker for reproductive and pregnancy-related research within the Signal Transduction research area.

Reported assay performance includes a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.11ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.8%, and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. Spike-and-recovery averages 87% (81-93%) for serum and 89% (83-95%) for plasma, while linearity spans 85% to 113% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
