Human E-selectin (SELE) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of human E-selectin (SELE) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Using a colorimetric detection method, the assay is intended for research use only and supports studies in immunology, where E-selectin functions as a cell adhesion molecule involved in inflammation and immune response. Elevated E-selectin levels have been associated with various inflammatory conditions, making it a valuable biomarker for research in cardiovascular disorders, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, sensitivity of 0.039ng/mL, intra-assay CV of 3.9%, and inter-assay CV of 7.1%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human E-selectin (UniProt P16581). Linearity was evaluated in serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5) and heparin plasma (N=5) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum ranges of 87-113%, EDTA plasma ranges of 95-117%, and heparin plasma ranges of 87-126%. Recovery averaged 97% (range 91-103%) for serum and 99% (range 93-105%) for plasma.

E-selectin, also referred to as CD62E, ELAM-1, LECAM2, CD62 antigen-like family member E, endothelial leukocyte adhesion molecule 1, and leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 2, is a cell-surface glycoprotein that mediates the adhesion of blood neutrophils in cytokine-activated endothelium through interaction with SELPLG/PSGL1, and may also play a role in capillary morphogenesis.
