Description

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables precise quantification of human E-Selectin (also known as CD62E), a cell adhesion molecule involved in inflammatory processes and leukocyte recruitment to sites of tissue injury. The kit is designed for the dependable measurement of E-Selectin levels across multiple human sample types, supporting research into inflammatory responses and vascular dysfunction.

The assay uses a sandwich ELISA, double-antibody format on a pre-coated plate and is reactive with human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Sensitivity is 46.875 pg/mL, with a working range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Components should be stored at 2–8 °C for up to 12 months. The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, incubating standards and samples at 37 °C for 90 minutes for antigen binding, adding a biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, then HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, developing colour with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm.

E-Selectin (CD62E) plays a central role in leukocyte recruitment, and elevated levels have been associated with inflammatory conditions such as atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. This makes the kit a useful tool for researchers studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.
