Human DTNBP1/Dysbindin ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody assay from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of dysbindin (DTNBP1) levels in human samples. Dysbindin is a protein involved in regulating synaptic transmission and neuronal development, and its dysfunction has been linked to psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and potential therapeutic interventions.

The assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and uses a colorimetric detection method. Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a detection range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Validation data report recovery averages of 96% for serum, 93% for EDTA plasma, and 93% for heparin plasma, with linearity generally between 80% and 105% across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions in those matrices.

Components should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. The assay procedure follows six steps at 37°C: a 90-minute primary incubation, a 60-minute biotin-labeled detection antibody binding step, a 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) incubation, and TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes. Absorbance is read at 450 nm immediately after adding stop solution.
