Description
A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) coated with antigen from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Deoxypyridinoline (DPD) in human samples. Deoxypyridinoline is described as a key marker for bone metabolism, playing a role in bone resorption and turnover. Sources associate abnormal DPD levels with bone-related disorders such as osteoporosis, Paget's disease, and bone metastasis, supporting its relevance to bone health research.
The kit employs a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The protocol uses biotin-labeled antibody binding, TMB substrate color development, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Kits should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.
Reported performance characteristics include linearity in serum (88-105% at 1:2, 86-102% at 1:4, 87-100% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (83-91% at 1:2, 87-101% at 1:4, 84-98% at 1:8), and heparin plasma (83-100% at 1:2, 83-99% at 1:4, 82-94% at 1:8), each with n=10. Recovery rates are 96-101% (average 99%) for serum, 86-101% (average 92%) for EDTA plasma, and 91-103% (average 99%) for heparin plasma. The kit is categorized within the Cell Biology research area.
