Description

The Dopamine beta-hydroxylase (DBH) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a sandwich ELISA using a double-antibody configuration, designed for the quantitative detection of human DBH. With a stated sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and an assay range of 1.563–100 ng/mL, the kit supports measurement across a broad concentration span. It is intended for use with human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types, and is stored at 2–8°C, where it remains stable for 12 months. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is associated with UniProt entry P09172. Listed synonyms for the target include DBH, Dopamine beta-hydroxylase, Dopamine beta-monooxygenase, DBM, and DOPBHY, and the product falls within the Metabolism research area.

Recovery has been validated across multiple matrices, with serum samples (n=5) giving a recovery range of 93–99% (average 96%), EDTA plasma (n=5) 89–102% (average 96%), and heparin plasma (n=5) 93–104% (average 98%). Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions in serum (86–104%, 85–93%, 89–105%), EDTA plasma (86–92%, 88–99%, 82–101%) and heparin plasma (80–98%, 80–94%, 83–95%). The workflow includes an initial 90-minute incubation at 37°C for antigen binding, followed by a biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation of 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of the stop solution.

DBH is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation, stress response and cardiovascular function, making the kit suitable for research applications in neurological and metabolic studies. Provided reagents include a lyophilised standard, biotin-labelled antibody, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution and 25X wash buffer.
