Human DNA topoisomerase 2-beta (TOP2B) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate detection of human DNA topoisomerase 2-beta (TOP2B). The assay is reactive for human samples and uses colorimetric detection, with validated sample types including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human DNA topoisomerase 2-beta.

TOP2B is a DNA topoisomerase that controls topological states of DNA by transient breakage and subsequent rejoining of DNA strands; topoisomerase II makes double-strand breaks. The protein functions as a homodimer and is localised to the cytoplasm, nucleus and nucleolus, with relevance to the epigenetics research area. The enzyme is involved in chromosome condensation, chromatid separation, and the relief of torsional stress during DNA transcription and replication, and altered TOP2B activity has been linked to drug resistance and ataxia-telangiectasia.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.045ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.3% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 90-90% to 99-108% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, in EDTA plasma (N=5) 110-122% to 86-96%, and in heparin plasma (N=5) 109-118% to 101-111%. Recovery averages 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma. The kit is supplied for research use only.
