Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Dihydropteridine reductase (QDPR), an enzyme that participates in tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) metabolism and supports the activity of phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan hydroxylases. The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and specifically detects natural and recombinant human Dihydropteridine reductase (UniProt P09417), which functions as a homodimer belonging to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.3 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.1%, and an inter-assay CV of 6.5%. Linearity has been characterised across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions for serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5), and heparin plasma (N=5). Recovery is reported as an average of 98% (range 92–104) for serum and 100% (range 94–106) for plasma.

Dysregulation of QDPR has been associated with BH4-deficient hyperphenylalaninemia type C (dihydropteridine reductase deficiency), a rare autosomal recessive disorder. This research-use-only kit falls within the cell biology research area and is supplied with component-specific storage information.
