Human Desmoglein-2 (DSG2) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Desmoglein-2 (DSG2). Desmoglein-2 is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes, the intercellular junctions that mediate cell-cell adhesion in epithelial and cardiac tissues. Dysregulation of DSG2 has been implicated in autoimmune disorders, skin diseases, and cardiac conditions, making it a relevant biomarker for research into cell adhesion and disease mechanisms.

The assay delivers quantitative performance with a detection range of 6.25-400pg/ml and a sensitivity of 2.85pg/mL. Reproducibility is supported by an intra-assay CV of 5.1% and an inter-assay CV of 9.8%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Desmoglein-2, and targets the protein referenced under UniProt Q14126, also known by the synonyms Cadherin family member 5, HDGC, and CDHF5. Functionally, DSG2 acts as a component of intercellular desmosome junctions, involved in the interaction of plaque proteins and intermediate filaments.

Validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, the kit is intended for signal transduction research. The protein is localised at the cell membrane as a single-pass type I membrane protein within desmosomal cell junctions.
