Human Desmoglein-1 (DSG1) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human Desmoglein-1 (DSG1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay detects natural and recombinant human Desmoglein-1, a desmosomal cadherin also referred to as Cadherin family member 4, Desmosomal glycoprotein 1, Pemphigus foliaceus antigen, DG1 and CDHF4.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.8% and an inter-assay CV of 6.3%. Spike-and-recovery values averaged 98% (range 92–104%) for serum and 100% (range 94–106%) for plasma, with dilution linearity established for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Desmoglein-1 functions as a component of intercellular desmosome junctions, contributing to cell–cell adhesion within epithelial tissues, and alterations in its expression have been linked to skin disorders including pemphigus vulgaris and pemphigus foliaceus.
