Human Desmocollin 3 (DSC3) ELISA Kit

This quantitative immunoassay kit from Assay Genie enables measurement of Desmocollin 3 (DSC3) in human samples including serum samples, plasma samples, and tissue homogenates. DSC3 is a transmembrane cadherin component of desmosomes, the intercellular junctions that anchor intermediate filaments and provide mechanical strength to epithelial sheets; the protein is preferentially expressed in the basal and suprabasal layers of stratified epithelia and in several glandular tissues.

Researchers apply this kit to investigate DSC3 expression in pemphigus and related autoimmune blistering disorders, in the tumor biology of skin, head-and-neck, and breast carcinomas, and in studies of wound repair and epithelial differentiation. Each kit provides reagents for 96 determinations run on a microplate, producing an absorbance-based signal that is read on a standard plate reader.
