Human Deoxyuridine 5'-triphosphate nucleotidohydrolase, mitochondrial (DUT) ELISA Kit

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Deoxyuridine 5'-triphosphate nucleotidohydrolase, mitochondrial (DUT) in research samples. DUT is an enzyme involved in nucleotide metabolism: it produces dUMP, the immediate precursor of thymidine nucleotides, and it decreases the intracellular concentration of dUTP so that uracil cannot be incorporated into DNA. Dysregulation of DUT activity has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and mitochondrial disorders, making the measurement of DUT levels valuable for studying disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It detects both natural and recombinant human DUT. Detection is colorimetric, with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.7% and inter-assay CV is 6.4%.

Synonyms for the target include dUTP pyrophosphatase and dUTPase. The enzyme is a homotrimer, and isoform 3 localizes to the mitochondrion (UniProt P33316). Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 88-119% across dilutions 1:2 to 1:16, in EDTA plasma from 93-117%, and in heparin plasma from 91-116%. Recovery in serum averages 89% (range 83-95%) and in plasma 91% (range 85-97%). The kit is intended for research use only within the epigenetics research area.
