Human Defensin Beta 2 (DEFb2) ELISA Kit

Beta-defensin 2 (hBD-2) is a 41-amino acid antimicrobial peptide encoded by the DEFB2 gene, secreted by epithelial cells of the skin, respiratory tract and intestinal mucosa in response to inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1beta and to bacterial lipopolysaccharide. This Assay Genie panel delivers quantitative measurement of endogenous hBD-2 across diverse sample matrices using a paired-antibody ELISA workflow. Capture and detection antibodies are human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against mouse, rat or rabbit orthologs, supporting studies in mucosal immunology, dermatology, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease and respiratory infection research. Reagents should be refrigerated upon arrival, and the streptavidin-HRP conjugate must be protected from light to preserve enzymatic activity.
