Human Defensin Alpha 1, Neutrophil (DEFa1) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie DEFa1 ELISA Kit quantitatively measures Human Neutrophil Peptide-1 (HNP-1), a 3.4 kDa antimicrobial peptide secreted by azurophilic granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes during degranulation and NETosis. HNP-1 contributes to innate mucosal defense, exhibits broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and enveloped viruses, and has been investigated as a biomarker in sepsis, chronic inflammatory disorders, and respiratory infections.

The assay employs a human-specific antibody pair and is intended for in vitro research use only. A 50 µL sample volume is loaded per well on the pre-coated microplate, with all reagents supplied ready-to-use in individually sealed vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Reconstituted standards and biotinylated detection reagent remain stable at 4 °C for short-term use and at -20 °C for longer-term storage.
