Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the precise and accurate detection of D-aspartate oxidase (DDO) levels in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human D-aspartate oxidase, with reactivity restricted to human samples.

Performance figures include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.11 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.3% and inter-assay CV is 6.3%. Linearity has been characterised in serum (103–112%, 96–108%, 107–117%, 101–110% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (113–123%, 112–120%, 100–111%, 92–102%) and heparin plasma (91–103%, 103–115%, 84–94%, 86–95%). Recovery is 93% (range 87–99%) for serum and 95% (range 89–101%) for plasma.

The target is a peroxisomal flavoprotein (UniProt Q99489; NCBI Gene ID 8528; molecular weight 33,980 Da) that selectively catalyses the oxidative deamination of D-aspartate and its N-methylated derivative, N-methyl D-aspartate, and is also known by the synonym DASOX. The kit is intended for research use only in the area of cell biology and supplies a microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer, each with component-specific storage conditions.
