Human D-amino-acid oxidase (DAO) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human D-amino-acid oxidase (DAO) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric readout and is specific for natural and recombinant human D-amino-acid oxidase, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 38 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%. The target protein is a peroxisomal flavoprotein that functions as a homodimer, regulates the level of the neuromodulator D-serine in the brain, and shows high activity towards D-DOPA, contributing to dopamine synthesis. Dysregulation of DAO has been linked to schizophrenia and other neurological conditions, making the kit a useful tool for cell biology research. For research use only.
