Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human D-3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples, and is intended for research use only, supporting applications in cell biology.

PHGDH is a key enzyme in the L-serine biosynthesis pathway, catalyzing the reversible oxidation of 3-phospho-D-glycerate to 3-phosphonooxypyruvate. Dysregulation of PHGDH has been linked to cancer and neurological disorders, making it a relevant biomarker for research into these conditions. According to the manufacturer, the kit recognizes both natural and recombinant human D-3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase, which functions as a homotetramer (UniProt O43175).

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.159 ng/mL. Precision is given as an intra-assay CV of 6.5% and an inter-assay CV of 11.2%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples, with recovery in serum averaging 86% (range 80–92%) and in plasma averaging 88% (range 82–94%).
