Human Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4 (CTLA4) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a Sandwich ELISA Kit intended for the quantitative detection of human Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4 (CTLA4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit targets CTLA4, also referred to as Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4, CTLA-4 and CD152, an inhibitory receptor that acts as a major negative regulator of T-cell responses. The protein is a homodimer linked by a disulfide bond, and its affinity for the natural B7 family ligands CD80 and CD86 is described as considerably stronger than the affinity of their cognate stimulatory coreceptor CD28.

Performance characteristics quoted by the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.33ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Recovery in serum averaged 93% with a range of 87-99%, and recovery in plasma averaged 95% with a range of 89-101%. Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5) and heparin plasma (N=5).
