Human Cytochrome P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) ELISA Kit

An assay intended for the quantitative measurement of Human Cytochrome P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) in research samples, designed and supplied by Assay Genie as a Sandwich ELISA. The kit shows reactivity with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids as input material. Detection is colorimetric, and the assay is reported by the manufacturer to detect natural and recombinant human CYP2B6 with a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL across a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 5.2% and inter-assay precision is 9.0%.

CYP2B6 is a heme-thiolate monooxygenase of the cytochrome P450 superfamily that participates in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway in liver microsomes and oxidizes a range of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids and xenobiotics; the enzyme also acts as a 1,4-cineole 2-exo-monooxygenase. Its role in the clearance of therapeutic drugs and environmental toxins means that variation in CYP2B6 activity is relevant to studies of drug metabolism, drug–drug interactions and personalized medicine, and the kit is categorized under the cardiovascular research area.
