Human Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (MT-CO1) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (MT-CO1). The assay is validated for reactivity with human samples and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It recognises both natural and recombinant human MT-CO1 (UniProt P00395), the catalytic subunit of cytochrome c oxidase located in the mitochondrial inner membrane.

MT-CO1 forms the functional core of complex IV in the respiratory chain and is essential for cellular energy production. Dysregulation of MT-CO1 has been linked to metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging-related conditions, making it a relevant biomarker for research into mitochondrial function, cellular metabolism, and related disease areas. The assay uses a Sandwich ELISA workflow with an intra-assay CV of 5.4% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 35 pg/mL, and recovery in serum (average 91%, range 85-97%) and plasma (average 93%, range 87-99%). Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. For research use only.
