Human Cytochrome b5 (CYB5A) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Cytochrome b5 (CYB5A) in human samples. The kit is intended for research use only and detects natural and recombinant human Cytochrome b5 using a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich format across a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL.

The assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Reported precision includes an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Linearity in serum (n=5) is 99–108% at 1:2, 106–116% at 1:4, 84–93% at 1:8 and 104–116% at 1:16 dilution; EDTA plasma (n=5) shows 98–108%, 94–102%, 97–107% and 88–98%; heparin plasma (n=5) shows 103–114%, 89–98%, 89–101% and 92–102%. Recovery is reported as 94% average (88–100% range) for serum and 96% average (90–102% range) for plasma. The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample diluent, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution, and a plate sealer.

Cytochrome b5 is a membrane-bound hemoprotein that functions as an electron carrier for several membrane-bound oxygenases. It has been implicated in drug metabolism, steroid biosynthesis, and fatty acid desaturation, and its dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders, cancer, and neurological conditions, supporting its use as a biomarker for disease research and therapeutic development.
