Built around a 96-assay microplate workflow, the Assay Genie immunoassay kit provides quantitative measurement of the CYBB protein (also known as gp91phox), the catalytic subunit of the phagocyte NADPH oxidase complex. CYBB drives the respiratory burst that produces superoxide in neutrophils and macrophages, so quantifying its expression is relevant to studies of chronic granulomatous disease, neutrophil function, oxidative burst signaling, and related inflammatory or immunodeficiency research pathways.

The kit accepts tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological preparations from human origin, supporting workflows in immunology, cell biology, and phagocyte biochemistry laboratories. A standard curve is included so that unknown samples can be interpolated against a dilution series of recombinant CYBB, and the assay is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic procedures. Each pack contains reagents sufficient for 96 assays, allowing multiple sample replicates, standard curve points, and appropriate background determinations on a single plate.

For best results, samples should be handled according to standard laboratory practice for protein extracts: keep lysates on ice during preparation, aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store the kit components refrigerated until first use. The plate-based workflow is compatible with standard microplate absorbance readers commonly available in research settings, integrating into existing immunology and cell signaling protocols without specialized instrumentation.
