Human Cystatin A ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of cystatin A in human biological samples. The double-antibody sandwich format uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for a range of research applications in cell biology. Cystatin A is a key protein involved in regulating cysteine protease activity and in maintaining cellular homeostasis, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, inflammatory conditions and neurodegenerative disorders, underlining its value as a biomarker in disease research and therapeutic development.

The assay has a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with kit storage at 2–8 °C for 12 months. The target protein is catalogued under UniProt P01040, and listed synonyms include CSTA, Cystatin-A, Keratolinin, Stefin A, STF1, cystatin AS, Cystatin-AS, STFA and Stefin-A.

Validation data (n = 5) are reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 86–97%, 86–105% and 88–101% for serum; 85–101%, 93–105% and 82–97% for EDTA plasma; and 88–97%, 85–99% and 84–94% for heparin plasma. Recovery averaged 95% (range 88–100%) for serum, 93% (range 86–103%) for EDTA plasma and 97% (range 92–104%) for heparin plasma.
